Care for a cup of tea?

Look what came in the mail....
Yeah! Tea Party Shower... Can't wait. Plus can't wait for Allison and Rebecca to be in town and to celebrate Allison's birthday with some sushi and pedicures maybe?!

Full Time

Had my very first compressed work weekend and it was bliss. Friday, after a stop at the good ol doctor's office, we headed up to Fort Collins. I must admit, I don't enter Ram country ever - I think I have been there once in the past 8 years or so. Anyway, we started out with lunch at Rasta Pasta and the traveled down Linden St. to the New Belgium Brewery were we tasted some beers and basically followed our folly. It was a great tour, great people and great beer. I have never done a beer tour, only done the winery thing, so it was a nice time.

Saturday had my haircut by the fab Malissa. I thought I had lost my hairdresser, but have no fear I am a true Facebook stalker and found out she is now down in Castle Rock. So thankful to have a haircut.

Saturday night Jason and I headed to Blackhawk to celebrate my dad's retirement. Again, another first for me, as I have never been to Blackhawk or Central City. We met some of my dad's old coworkers up there and ate a big buffet dinner. Jason had his fair share of crab legs and loved it.

Sunday hung low, hit up the grocery store as always, and then worked on a few wedding items.

Things with the wedding are progressing nicely. This week we finally got the contract with the caterer signed and ordered the centerpieces. Now if we can get a cake tasting scheduled and figure out what we are doing for music we will be pretty much squared away with the exception of the little things - like wedding shoes... anyone have recommendations on where to find some cute white shoes without much of a heel that would show of a pedicure just perfectly? I have found ballet flats and then high high heels, but nothing just right yet...

Happy Tuesday - here's to the upcoming weekend that I'm wishing would quickly get here.

My Life, My Movie

A girl in my office found this horrible site...

Plug in a few minor details about yourself and get a what your life would be if it were made into a Lifetime movie.

Check it out, we had some good laughs.

Monday Morning

4 days to the work week this week, but oh how I long for the good day's when I would get MLK day off.

This weekend was pleasant. Friday ran some errands with Jason and watched Father of the Bride. Oh how I love that movie, it just makes me all warm inside. Saturday hit up the grocery store, cleaned house and had Kristin and Eric over for dinner. Made a big pan of lasagna and a salad. It was so nice to just chat with them. Sunday cat-napped, and then headed to the fam's for dinner and to get a few wedding things straightened out. Ready to get on the invites this week so those can get out in the mail like ASAP.

Mark it on the calendar

Four months from today I will marry my best friend. Really in only four months? So much to still do, but how I wish it was already here.

I've been a little absent. Work has been crazy busy as it is during reporting weeks, and now I'm working at least nine hour days with compressed work week (but woot woot for every other Friday off). By the time I've been getting home everything in my life is neglected.

Last weekend we tasted the menu for our reception. Everything was just wonderful. I think my favorite was the Asian shrimp & snow peas on sticks for an appetizer, Jason I think loved the mini-buffalo burger best.

Hopefully soon we will be setting up our cake tasting.

This weekend we will be having some friends over for dinner, and otherwise I SERIOUSLY need to get some to-do's tackled. How many times am I going to post that?

Wishing everyone a very happy Friday!

Mid-way Point

It is Wednesday, finally Wednesday. Being the beginning of the month it is always crunch time for reporting, so in some ways I wish it were still Monday, but I'm living for the weekends right now.

Saturday we have a tasting with the caterer. Crossing my fingers the food is grub, as their menu plan falls within the budget.

Today some of us from work who have finished the entire Twilight series are going to lunch to gab and grub over the books.

My moment

Another long weekend comes to the end.

Wednesday night for New Year's Jason and I cooked up a fab meal of fondue. Reminds me a great fon-don't meal of New Year's past... It was low key, and I liked it that way.

Thursday was spent entirely cleaning. My house is cleaned from top to bottom. It feels a little more peaceful and I like it that way.

Friday started car shopping - and it just stresses me out. We went out to dinner to celebrate my Dad's retirement! Wow - my Dad is retired, very excited for him.

Saturday ran a few more errands and spent the afternoon at Jason's parents house before his grandma flew back to MN.

Yesterday, got a lot of wedding items tackled and did the weekly grocery trip. Had my very firstmoment at Cost Plus World Market over wine glasses on sale. It was so funny, I nearly had a brawl with another innocent woman looking for wine glasses. She wanted some, but I needed every box of glasses the store had. I won, but then again, maybe I really lost my "good bride" image over the whole thing as I refused to let her have a box as I stuffed my cart full of wine glasses. Jason was the one who kindly pointed out in the car when we were done buying the glasses that I lost it and had my first bridezilla moment. Too funny.

Here's to hoping for a quick a week.
