Thankful Thanksgiving

I still have so much to be thankful for this year.

After stuffing our tummy with turkey we boarded the sleigh for a hayride. It was a little on the corny side, but exactly what memories are made of. I hope it can become a great tradition!

The Life Sucked Out of Me

I have been so wrapped up in the Twilight series, I can't read anything else right now... it is horrible. But, I suppose it has made for quicker train rides lately.

Jason and I have been trying to get our registry all wrapped up, and that has been a lot more difficult that I thought. Makes me feel very selfish putting things on a list that you tell other people to shop from - not like when I was little and wrote to Santa, this feels so different.

I'm sorry I haven't posted pictures from my craft projects this past weekend, but I can't find my camera cord... so stayed posted, hopefully I can find it soon.

Going rock climbing tomorrow with Kristin, really excited about that!

This weekend hoping to get a dress ordered, get the save the dates finished and printed out, and wrap up my half-finished craft projects.

Too Much Train

Went dress shopping yesterday, among other errands. Found a dress I really loved, however no one gets to see that one yet, so I'll hold you over with a photo of one we didn't like (not saying that it wasn't a beautiful dress - it was just too traditional, too much train, and just not "the dress" for my wedding).

Off to do some more shopping and errands today. I can't tell you how many Hobby Lobby stores, and Michael's we have been to in the past month... but I think this weekend might be the last trip of planning, and then from here out it will on be if we need more supplies. Yesterday, purchased everything I needed for my DIY hair flower comb - stay posted for photos and details of that little craft project.

Let's Get this Party Started

I have tomorrow off from work. Can't wait for a three-day weekend!

The wedding check-list is actually seeing some progress. We booked the venue, booked the photographer, set the date for our engagement photos, are meeting with the rental company tomorrow, and will be doing more dress shopping tomorrow too. I finished the design of the save the dates last night - now just need to print them. Things are taking shape. We also decided on our wedding favors, but I won't post about that just yet. You can wait and see when I finally get around to that DIY project.

Tonight I'm off to see Eric Hutchinson, who if you remember reading we saw at the Mile High Music Festival and loved.... think he plays weddings? We are still looking at what we want to do for music.

Oh Friday How I Long For Thee

Two days in a row I have woken up at 5 to get to the office by 6:30, and mind you I have an hour commute, so I have been running for the train. But, hopefully next week will be a little more smooth. Plus, next week I'm taking Friday off for some major planning and appointments. Jason will be out in Miami for the final NASCAR race of the season with work, so I figure I can get a lot of planning and such squared up and ready for his final opinions.

Last night we met with a photographer that we really liked, just waiting for another quote to come in before we make our final call there.

This weekend headed to Jason's annual bowling fundraiser and then Sunday I'm starting my holiday shopping!

What Day Is It?

I guess the passing of Halloween has fully signaled all retail to begin pushing the winter holidays. I know I saw Christmas cards in Target about two months ago, as soon as the school supplies were put on clearance. The holiday cups are out at Starbucks, along with the winter drinks - can we just say I want to try the Ginger Snap Latte ASAP. The commercials on TV have passed from the elections to ringing the melodies of the holidays (thanks Walmart - just don't know what I would do if I didn't know you had more lines open for my shopping convenience this Christmas, but thanks to the power of TV, I know lines will be fine).

This Holiday season, like most, I'm trying to be conservative in my spending habits. Jason and I have set a budget on what will spend on each other, and Riley may not have as many toys under the tree to tear into (I mean how many plush toys does one girl pup need).

Today is going to be a good day, I just know it!

Few and Far Between

I know my posting lately has been a sad story. I don't know what has come over me. I don't mean to neglect the blog, it just sort of happens.

Started a new book this week, thanks to the way cool Jen's postings on her blog. I'm liking the book so far, about 80 pages in of the mass paperback. Should be a nice series to read as the snow starts to fly here.

Work has been busy. We just welcomed Nicole to the team. She started yesterday, so training will be fast and furious the next couple weeks.

Trying to get some wedding details finalized and then I won't feel like such a crazy woman. So stay tuned for some great updates there hopefully. We are hammering out the venue details, awaiting a few quotes from photographers and then need to start thinking about food, dresses, all the other fun stuff.

Off to get my work day started - wish me luck on hitting deadlines and crossing items off the list.
